Counterfeit products trade is a serious threat to world economy, a predicament growing problem inflating day by day and becoming undeniable concern for growing economies. Almost no industry in the world is spared of this illegal activity.  Markets are flooded with counterfeit products imported and or locally manufactured. The side effect of such trade can't be overlooked, as they can cause an immense loss of revenue; a greater loss would be sensed in the damage of a brand reputation or loss of customer loyalty caused by poor quality of such products, above all, the damage/harm which consumers may face when buying and consuming law quality products.

Counterfeiting is considered as a criminal act in many countries, nevertheless, coordinated efforts between brand owners and law enforcement bodies is an essential element of conducting real enforcement action against offenders.

  • Identifying retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers of counterfeit products via discreet investigations. As well as lots where offenders stock and manufacture the counterfeit goods will be located.
  • TASKS investigators shall conduct market surveillance and gather intelligence, in order to identify areas where the counterfeit products are being sold. Efforts will be made to obtain the source of counterfeit product and to collect tangible evidences of infringement.
  • After the process of market surveying and data collection is complete, a detailed report of the surveys carried out, along with the samples of counterfeit products, will be forwarded to the brand owner.
  • TASKS designated Case Manager will suggest you the type of action to be taken, in the most beneficial manner to your organization (in accordance with the legal procedures allowed/followed in the country of operation) which will include Administrative Action, Criminal Action or a combination of both.
  • It is assured that all investigations carried out by TASKS investigators will be done in a discreet manner; the actual raids would be carried out by the Police and other law enforcement authorities with assistance of TASKS staff.
  • Up to the time when raid is carried out; the identities of the counterfeiters and their locations will not be revealed to any other agency or party (unless legally needed) and TASKS staff shall take the responsibility of coordinating and leading the concerned enforcement body to the targeted location.
  • We at TASKS are committed to propose the commencing of a raid ONLY when we are STRONGLY sure of the presence of incriminating materials at the premises to be raided, supported by evidences collected throughout investigation process.
  • After the raid is carried; Post Raid Action should ensure, keeping the brand owner updated regarding the status of the case, in addition to legal follow up of the case in the concerned government department, until reaching a satisfactory settlement of the case (should include the destruction of the seized counterfeit products) as well as fining the offenders in accordance to laws within the country of operation.
  • Sweep Raid Action can also be undertaken in order to clear the retail markets of any displayed counterfeit products, which is done in coordination with the concerned legal enforcement bodies, thus creating a double impact of bestowing discipline amongst offending traders in the market.
